This morning, Amol Rajan sat down with Phillip Schofield inviting the former ITV presenter to give his side of the story following the scandal that has seen him not only lose ‘his future in TV’ but also has seen him dropped from the majority of his brand deals and charitable positions.

In the 45-minute BBC iPlayer interview, Amol asked all of the questions viewers have been wanting to put to Phillip after reports suggested that he was toxic in the workplace and engaged in an illegal relationship with a younger male colleague - two headlines the ex This Morning host 'categorically denies'.

The bombshell interview comes after Amol spoke to Piers Morgan about Prince Harry and a few months ahead of his debut as the University Challenge host in autumn 2023, where he will step into the shoes of the show's veteran Jeremy Paxman. Rajan has previously appeared on the University Challenge as a competitor where his Cambridge team failed to get through the first round against Durham.

In light of Amol quizzing Piers Morgan about his relationship with the royals, some may actually recognise the 39-year-old journalist’s voice from the 2022 BBC podcast Harry, Meghan and the Media which was released last January.

Although Amol Rajan seems to be at the forefront of every critical interview at the moment, he has had quite the career leading up to today having worked for the BBC for seven years as its first media editor (appointed in November 2016) and risen through the ranks from 2007 to become news editor at The Independent newspaper.

The Indian-born British journalist, who received his degree from Downing College, Cambridge, has also covered presenting roles at BBC Radio 2 and The One Show and has hosted The Big Debate on the BBC Asian Network.

As his professional career has taken flight leaving him with an estimated net worth of between $1-$5 million, Amol continues to live in London with his three children and wife of 10 years, academic Charlotte Faircloth.
