While some readers were intrigued by Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir, others were left shouting ‘Spare us the details’ as Harry recounted his frostbitten todger and the moment he lost his virginity.

Despite its somewhat Marmite reception, 750,000 copies were sold within a week of the memoir hitting shelves and now it will have a brother book keeping it company in UK stores as a parody version has been announced.

‘Spare Us! A Harrody’ is set to be released this April with author Bruno Vincent brutally mocking Prince Harry’s side of the story that led to him and Meghan Markle moving to Montecito, California.

According to Waterstones, the upcoming spoof focuses on Harry’s ambition for privacy by writing an ‘exceptionally detailed 500,000 word book’. The synopsis states:

“His life was a constant barrage of press intrusion and manipulation. Until finally, he demanded that it stop. In order to get the privacy he so craved, he has written a warts-and-all book that goes deep inside the castle walls and exposes every shouting match, fist-fight, betrayal, teddy bear, awkward hug and tear-stained wedding rehearsal for the world to feast their eyes on. All for privacy!”

The parody, published by Little Brown Book Group, features a picture of Prince Harry on the front cover with tape plastered over his mouth and is lined up to be released as both a hardback and an e-book for Kindles.

While Harry’s memoir was written by ghost-writers, the parody is in the hands of spoof veteran Bruno Vincent who has released numerous national bestselling satirical takes on classic books, prior to Spare Us.

Bruno, who was a bookseller and editor before becoming an author, is probably most well known for his takes on Enid Blyton’s ‘Five Find Outers’, creating the likes of Five Go To Brexit Island or Five Go Gluten Free and the Tumblewater series.

Spare Us, a Harrody is now available to pre-order on Waterstones and Amazon, before its release on 6 April 2023 - a month before King Charles' coronation.
