Bangers: Mad for Cars starring Tinie Tempah and Naomi Schiff 'axed' by Channel 4 after just one season

Another Channel 4 show has been shown the door this week, after it was reported that Bangers: Mad for Cars has been axed.

The car show, which starred rapper Tinie Tempah and Formula 1 analyst and stunt driver Naomi Schiff only debuted in October 2023 in partnership with eBay. It ran for one season and had a format similar to Top Gear as it followed the presenters as they looked at cars from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, took on car challenges and interviewed celebrity guests.

The Sun have reported that a TV source has revealed the series will not be returning for season two, explaining that it is, “so tough for car shows right now.” Here’s everything you need to know about Bangers: Mad for Cars being axed by Channel 4.

Why has Bangers: Mad for Cars been axed by Channel 4?

The Channel 4 show which starred Tinie Tempah and Naomi Schiff only debuted in 2023, it featured interviews with celebrities including the former footballer Ian Wright and chef Tom Kerridge. However, it has been revealed that the series will not be returning for a second season.

A source told The Sun: "It’s so tough for car shows right now, especially on mainstream channels. Bangers: Mad For Cars was always viewed within Channel 4 as a one-off.” They continued: “But if it went down a storm with viewers. A second series would likely have been on the table. But sadly it’s not to be and the show’s being parked, and may never restart."
