Did Rolf Harris die at his Berkshire home or in prison? Disgraced former entertainer passes away at 93

In 2014, disgraced former entertainer and artist Rolf Harris was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison after being found guilty of a string of indecent assaults on girls between 1968 and 1986.

The Australian’s crimes were brought to light as part of Operation Yewtree, a police investigation that started in the wake of Jimmy Saville’s sexual abuse scandal, and he was subsequently stripped of his CBE given by Elizabeth II when he was jailed between HM Prison Stafford and HMP Bullingdon.

Harris, who passed away last month following a battle with neck cancer at the age of 93, was released after serving just three years and was sent back to his home in Bray, Berkshire which had been undergoing million pounds-worth of renovations during his sentence.

The Berkshire home was designed in line with Harris’ childhood home in Perth, Australia which looked out onto the Swan River.

Harris is survived by his wife of 65 years Alwen, who has been seriously ill with Alzheimer’s for several years, and their daughter Bindi.

Through his final years before he passed away at his £5 million Thames-side home, Harris would take care of Alwen, walk their late Poodle dog and only leave his house for diabetes medication.

Following his cancer diagnosis, it is understood that the 93-year-old left him under 24-hour care and was no longer able to eat.

It is believed that when Harris returned home in 2017, three neighbouring multi-million properties were put up for sale as residents no longer wanted to live next door to the convicted paedophile.
