If rumours are to be believed, model and biomedical science student Tanya Manhenga is heading to South Africa to star in the winter Love Island series. It has been reported that the model who has worked for the likes of Boohoo, is the first named contestant of the show.

Tanya, who has 12.9K followers on Instagram describes herself as a 'digital creator' and is already signed up to Muse, The Agency. She has also worked with the likes of Simmi shoes and is an Ambassador for Ego Official.

If her Instagram is anything to go by, Tanya already looks like she is used to hanging out in sunnier climes. In June last year, she posted a photograph of herself posing in a bikini with the caption: “Just satisfying your cravings,” followed by the mate drink emoji.

At Christmas, she posted a cryptic caption, “Calm before the storm,” which is perhaps referring to her exciting journey ahead on Love Island.

Love Island is ‘set’ to hit our television screens on January 16, and will be hosted for the first time by Maya Jama.

If it does come out as reported on January 16, this will be the perfect time to lift the nation’s spirits as it is ‘Blue Monday,’ which is said to be the most depressing day of the year.

‘Blue Monday’ is traditionally the start of when people start to think about their summer holidays as they are simply so fed up with the shorter days and cold temperatures and the fact that Christmas has long gone. With the expected blue skies in the Love Island location South Africa, I would hazard a guest that flights will soon be booked up for this destination.

Love Island host Maya Jama looks like she is getting in the mood for hosting the show as she posed in a bikini on her Instagram recently. Her caption was simple and to the point, “Ya’ll won.”
