The Great Celebrity Bake Off fashion faux pas from Prue Leith and Jesy Nelson

It has been weeks of anticipation waiting for the first episode of Stand Up to Cancer: Great Celebrity Bake Off to air. Fans of the show couldn’t wait to see the celebrities battle it out over the next five weeks and become the winner of the series. 

In the first episode, we saw Friends star David Schwimmer compete against comedian Rose Matafeo, singer Jesy Nelson and actor Tom Davis. The four contestants were tasked to bake a savoury pie, a French confection and a meringue.

But it was the fashion faux pas from host Prue Leith and the singer - former Little Mix star - Jesy Nelson that really got us talking. GBBO presenter and chef, Prue says she is known to wear striking and bold necklaces on the show and last night's accessory was a very unusual design. Prue wore what looked like a black elasticated band with a red ball. 

Many fans of the show were quick to point out it looked quite rude and compared it to a ‘ball gag’. One person wrote: "You cannot tell me that is a necklace". Another added: "Does Prue Leith realise she's wearing a ball gag?"

Jesy Nelson also caught the attention of viewers as she struggled due to her extremely long nails. Prue stepped in to lend a hand as the singer admitted she, "hadn’t thought them through." One person on social media joked, "Our thoughts are with Jesy Nelson’s manicurist at this tough time."

In the upcoming weeks, we will see Taskmaster star and actor Mike James Wozniak wear a suit on the show. Not really the best outfit to wear when baking and another fashion fail. 

This series may give us plenty more fashion fails from the celebrity contestants but we are sure host Noel Fielding - who was absent from last night's show - will grace us with some bright and colourful quirky jumpers throughout the rest of the series.
