Shane Duffy: Norwich star charged with drink driving as club issues statement

Norwich player Shane Duffy has been charged with drink driving, it has been reported. The 32-year-old was arrested in Hethersett, near Norwich on bank holiday Monday (May 6) after a collision involving two vehicles.
No one was injured in the incident and the former Premier League star is due to appear before magistrates in Norwich in July. Norfolk police confirmed that the star was taken for questioning following the incident.

Hide AdA spokesperson for Norfolk Police told The Sun: "Police were called to Queen's Road, Hethersett, 21:05, on Monday May 6, following reports of a two-vehicle collision.
"Emergency services attended the scene and a man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. "No one was injured."
Duffy has responded through a spokesperson who told the outlet that he was charged with driving whilst unfit through drink, “having provided an evidential breath sample of 102mcg."
A Norwich City spokesman said: "Norwich City Football Club is aware of an incident involving one of its first-team players. The club is in the process of considering the matter internally in accordance with its own disciplinary procedure."

Hide AdDuffy is scheduled to play for Norwich against Leeds United in the Championship play-offs, with the first leg on Sunday. He joined the team last season after a brief stay at Fulham, where he made just seven appearances.
