Although all eyes were transfixed on the main members of the royal family at the late Queen Elizabeth II's funeral at Westminster Abbey, it is definitely accurate to say that the next generation of young royals in attendance were most certainly noted. Read on to discover who they are and why they are set to be making the royal headlines in the very near future.

Lady Amelia Windsor

Dubbed ‘the most beautiful woman in the British Royal Family’ by Tatler magazine, Lady Amelia Windsor is fast becoming a rising star in the world of fashion.

The 27-year-old recently wowed the crowd walking the catwalk for Zeynep Kartal’s London Fashion Week SS23 runway show. Lady Amelia modelled three of her looks, including a striking green taffeta ruched bodice blouse and flowing train.

Lady Amelia Windsor is the youngest daughter of George Windsor, the Earl of St Andrew’s, and the granddaughter of the Duke of Kent. As well as becoming known for her modelling, Lady Amelia has shown that like King Charles III, she is committed to helping the environment.

She is an ambassador for the Fashion Roundtable, a think tank dedicated to reimagining a creative and responsible fashion industry. Last year, she worked with British fashion company Brora to produce a new luxury Scottish knitwear range where 10% of the profits were donated to Blue Marine Foundation, which is dedicated to restoring the ocean.

Lady Amelia Windsor said: "It is vital for the oceans that we do not overfish and disturb the systems at work as they are crucial to maintaining the national balance."

Her Instagram account gives us an insight into both her modelling world and life away from the catwalk. As well as posting glamorous photographs from trips abroad, there are plenty of shots of Lady Amelia in more casual attire amid the English countryside.

Lady Louise Windsor

At only 19 years old, Lady Louise Windsor has already started to step into the royal spotlight. The daughter of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Lady Louise was alongside her other cousins, the late Queen’s grandchildren, in a vigil standing beside her coffin in Westminster Hall.

Lady Louise Windsor was said to have been incredibly close to her grandfather, the late Duke of Edinburgh, and shared with him her love of carriage driving. She first made her carriage driving debut at the age of 17.

Born one month early, Lady Louise Windsor grew up with an eye condition, esotropia, a condition that turns the eyes outwards. After an unsuccessful first eye procedure at 18 months old, it was later corrected successfully in 2014.

In 2011, Lady Louise Windsor was a bridesmaid at the Prince and Princess of Wales’s wedding and alongside her brother, Viscount Severn, were both special attendants at Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank in 2018.

She is following in the footsteps of both the Prince and Princess of Wales by attending the University of St Andrews where she is currently studying English.

Viscount Severn

Although all eyes were on all the late Queen’s grandchildren as they stood by their late grandmother’s coffin in the vigil in Westminster Hall, James, Viscount Severn, Lady Louise Windsor’s 14-year-old younger brother attracted particular attention because of his tender age.

Unlike his sister, Viscount Severn is very rarely seen in public and was watched on intently at the vigil by his parents, Edward, Earl of Wessex, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

Viscount Severn’s parents have done their best to shield their children from the public eye and decided not to give either of them HRH titles. In an interview with the Sunday Times in 2020, Sophie Countess of Wessex, revealed: "We try to bring them up with the understanding that they are very likely to have to work for a living."

She went on to say: "We made the decision not to use HRH titles. They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but it’s highly unlikely."

Like other members of the Royal family, Viscount Severn is said to be a big fan of the great outdoors. He is believed to enjoy fly fishing, which undoubtedly delighted his late grandmother, The Queen, as it was a sport that her own mother, the late Queen Mother, adored.

Alexander Ogilvy

“‘Who is that man?” was one of the comments posted on a video of Alexander Ogilvy who attended the late Queen’s state funeral. The answer is that Alexander Ogilvy is the son of Julia and James Ogilvy (who is the son of Princess Alexandra who was a first cousin of the Queen).

He is also considered to be a heart-throb amongst the next generation of young royals. A few other TikTok users also compared the 25-year-old to a young Duke of Edinburgh.

Alexander studied Computer Science and Economics at Brown University in the States and is now believed to be working at a software development company in New York. Previously, to the Queen’s state funeral, Alexander has been seen in the public eye on several occasions, including on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the annual Trooping of the Colour. He has also been photographed at his sister Flora’s wedding in 2021 and was sitting behind Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in the Royal Box at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships at the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

Despite not having a title, he was previously voted one of 13 ‘hot eligible princes you can still marry’ by Elle Australia, following the engagement of the Duke of Sussex to the then Meghan Markle (the now Duchess of Sussex).

Arthur Chatto

Known as ‘Art,’ Arthur Chatto is the youngest son of Daniel Chatto and Lady Sarah Chatto (the late Princess Margaret’s daughter) and has already set the hearts of royal fans aflutter.

"Arthur Chatto is a real dish, was one of the social media’s comments when he was spotted attending a national service of thanksgiving wearing his Royal Marines uniform to celebrate the platinum jubilee of the late Queen.

The 23-year-old who previously worked as a personal trainer when he was at the University of Edinburgh, is now on an officer training course for the Royal Marines. In the past, he has made the headlines for taking part in a charity row around Britain in the summer of 2020. He took part alongside three friends that took the group 38 days to complete 2000 miles.

Arthur Chatto also wore his Royal Marines uniform when he attended the late Queen’s funeral, alongside his parents Daniel Chatto and Lady Sarah Chatto and his older brother, Samuel Chatto.

Samuel Chatto

Samuel (Sam, as he is known) Chatto is the oldest son of Daniel Chatto and Lady Sarah Chatto. Like his cousins, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex, Sam attended Eton College, and then studied History of Art at Edinburgh University (a popular subject amongst the Royals).

Although he worked for three months in the commercial art market, Sam decided it was not for him and now works as a potter from his home and studio in West Sussex.

He shares some of his work on his Instagram, where he lists himself an ‘Artist’ and a ‘Maker.’ On his social media, the public can gain more personal insight into the young royal. In 2019 he shared a photograph of himself in India, where he spent four weeks completing a 200 hour Yoga Teaching Training. Although he had no plans on teaching yoga, he revealed that he, 'discovered so much about my body and mind and have come away with knowledge of an invaluable practice and a whole new family of kind spirited friends!’

Cassius Taylor

Cassius Taylor, 25, who is the youngest son of Lady Helen Taylor (daughter of the late Queen’s first cousin, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent) and Tim Taylor, has been dubbed as the ‘bad boy of the royal family.’ His Instagram shows him hanging out and partying with friends or ‘chaps’ as he calls them at festivals such as Glastonbury.

He hangs out with his cousin, and another of the next generation of young royals, Lady Amelia Windsor.

As well as an older brother, Columbus, he has two younger sisters, Eloise, and Estella.

Lady Margarita Armstrong- Jones

Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones was named after her late grandmother, Princess Margaret (the late queen’s sister). The 20-year-old is the daughter of David Armstrong-Jones, the Earl of Snowdon, and his estranged wife Serena.

Alongside Lady Louise Windsor, Lady Margarita was also a bridesmaid at the Prince and Princess of Wales’s wedding.

Unlike some other younger royals, Lady Margarita’s Instagram is private. However, her bio does link to her public jewellery company Matitta. Lady Margarita clearly follows in the arty footsteps of her late grandfather Antony Armstrong-Jones.

Charles Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley

The older brother of Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley was educated at Eton College and was in the same year as his cousin, Arthur Chatto. Viscount Linley has kept himself largely away from the public eye, but in 2012, was made the first Page of Honour to his great-aunt, the late Queen. For this ceremonial role, he was required to carry the train of the Queen’s robes at state occasions, one of these being the Order of the Garter service.
