As Prince Harry continues answering questions in the witness box by Andrew Green KC, it can’t be easy for King Charles’s youngest son to respond to a barrister who has been described as a ‘beast in court.’ Andrew Green KC seems to be living up to his name as Sky News has reported that “Prince Harry is measured and very softly spoken despite quite challenging questions from Andrew Green KC, who is currently dissecting his witness statement.”

If you take a look at the website of Blackstone Chambers, which Andrew Green KC is a part of, it describes Andrew as a someone who “is widely recognised as one of the leading barristers at the Commercial Bar and is particularly renowned as a trial advocate. The Legal 500 describes himself as an ‘outstanding trail advocate’ and a ‘fearless and fearsome cross examiner,’ and Chambers Global describes him as having ‘a superb mind’ and as ‘wonderful with clients and very courageous in court.”

It is therefore no surprise that Prince Harry is ‘softly spoken’ when answering the questions put to him by Andrew Green KC. As a daughter of a former barrister myself, I know that to answer any question (regardless of whether you are in court or not) you have to be fully prepared to state your case clearly and mount your argument succinctly if you have any hope of making headway in the conversation.

The Independent writes that “Having represented the likes of Mungo Jerry and Island Records founder Chris Blackwell in media-related cases, Mr Green is also known for leading a major investigation on behalf of the Financial Conduct Authority in 2015 into regulatory decision-making following the collapse of banking giant HBOS.”

When it comes to Prince Harry’s barrister, David Sherborne, he is part of 5RB who specialise in barristers who are experts in all areas of media law. David is described on their website as “a leading barrister in the field of media and communication, specialising in privacy, confidentiality and defamation, as well as matrimonial and sports law.

When your client list includes Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, Cherie and Tony Blair, Donald and Melania Trump, Sir Elton John and David Furnish amongst many other A-list names, it is understandable why Prince Harry chose him to be his barrister.
