Matt Hancock, former health secretary and lothario, has submitted his earnings for the last year. All MPs have to fill in the 'MPs register of interests'.

The main purpose of the Register is to provide information about any financial interest which a Member has, or any benefit which he or she receives, which others might reasonably consider to influence his or her actions or words as a Member of Parliament.

It allows for an interesting breakdown of Matt Hancock's money coming in during the last 12 months.

Matt made a big thing of saying he would donate money to charity for his appearance on I'm a Celebrity last year, which saw him ditch his usual MP duties in favour of boosting his image in the Australian jungle.

However, it has come to light that less than 5% of his £320,000 fee was given to charities. He gave £10,000 to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk and the British Dyslexia Association.

Matt Hancock was paid £320,000 for his controversial appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, it has been revealed. His large fee for appearing on the reality TV show was not a motivating factor, he claimed, and said: "And no, it wasn’t the cheque that changed my mind. I will be making a donation to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk and causes supporting dyslexia off the back of my appearance," he added in the piece for The Sun in November.

His claims of not being motivated by money ring hollow now that his earnings have been seen, alongside his small charitable donation.

He earns £84,144 from his role as an MP. He also did a speech for Blemain finance which earned him £10,000 and did an interview and serialisation of his book in the Daily Mail.

In total, Matt Hancock's earnings were £462,144 - an eye-watering sum and just £10,000 going to charitable causes.

A spokesperson for Mr Hancock told the Mirror: "As well as raising the profile of his dyslexia campaign in front of 11-million viewers, Matt's donated £10,000 to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk and the British Dyslexia Association, off the back of his appearance on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here'."

The Mirror has asked if Mr Hancock is planning to make any further donations but the politician's spokesperson is yet to respond.

Matt's earnings comes in the aftermath of a 61-year-old man being charged with assaulting the former health secretary on the London Underground on Tuesday 24 January. Geza Tarjanyi, from Leyland, Lancashire, faces three counts - one of common assault and two public order offences, British Transport Police said.

Mr Hancock reached the final of I'm a Celebrity in December - finishing third behind soap star Owen Warner and Queen of the Jungle Jill Scott.
