Taylor Swift * finally * dropped the music video for Lavender Haze, and fans are overjoyed. It’s been three months since the Anti-Hero singer dropped her tenth album 'Midnights', with fans desperately waiting for the third music video for the album.

Well it’s finally here, and of course, it’s full of Easter eggs that Taylor Swift fans spotted a mile off. Whether it’s suggesting what could be next in her career (cough cough 'Speak Now Taylor's Version') or nods to her previous iconic moments, nothing gets past the Swifties.

As she has with the other two music video’s, Swift directed this one too. Shortly after the video premiered, Swift took to social media to explain the music video, saying: “This was the first video I wrote out of the three that have been released, and this one really helped me conceptualize the world and mood of Midnights, like a sultry sleepless 70’s fever dream. Hope you like it.”

One of the biggest takeaways was that many of the signs in this video seem to point to one big bit of news, confirmation that Swift’s third album 'Speak Now' may be next in the string of Taylor’s Version releases. She previously hinted at it majorly in the Bejeweled music video, her second one for Midnights. However, all the purple imagery throughout this suggest that Speak Now is next due to purple being the main colour for that album.

Taylor Swift has famously been re-releasing her old albums after losing the rights to her music to Scooter Braun, who famously purchased it from her old label Big Machine Records.

When talking about her album in an Instagram video in October the singer explained the meaning behind the song:  “Lavender Haze is track 1 on Midnights. I happened upon the phrase ‘lavender haze’ when I was watching Mad Men. I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool. And it turns out that it’s a common phrase used in the ’50s where they would describe being in love. If you’re in the ‘lavender haze,’ then that meant you were in that all-encompassing love glow. And I thought that was really beautiful.”

Swifties are well used to using their eagle eyes to spot any hidden messages Taylor Swift leaves in her songs, music videos and content, but even Swift herself can’t seem to keep up with them anymore.

Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon the singer-songwriter explained how there are a ‘psychotic amount’ of Easter eggs in her music video for Bejeweled: “We have a PDF file for the Easter eggs in this video because there are so many that we could not keep track,” she said. Don’t worry Taylor, PeopleWorld has you covered.

So, what are the easter eggs in Lavender Haze? Here’s all the messages decoded by fans so far.

All the Lavender Haze Easter Eggs

  1. The clock strikes midnight in the opening of the video is an obvious one, referencing her Midnights album and lyric, “meet me at midnight.”
  2. The nail polish Swift wears in the video when it pans from her feet is Moonstone - just like her aura…
  3. The purple imagery throughout suggesting that Speak Now will be the next re-recording.
  4. In a stack of records, a Mastermind record is at the top which could hint at the next single for the Midnight’s album. The featuring of Mastermind confirms the song is about her partner (and rumoured husband) Joe Alwyn who also inspired Lavender Haze. The cover of the Mastermind record features the constellations for her star sign Sagittarius aligned with Alwyn’s star sign of Pisces.
  5. There is a puff of purple smoke referencing a clock, which is a nod to Alice in Wonderland’s caterpillar and the clock imagery she has used to promote Midnights featured on different versions of the album.
  6. The koi fish is a reference to her Speak Now guitar. Swift has previously hinted in her “Bejeweled” music video that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) was her next re-recording.
  7. In the weather report shown on a vintage looking TV, there is a 13 over Nashville which is Swift’s home, and her lucky number.
  8. In the same weather report, it’s forecasting rain which could be a reference to the song ‘Midnight Rain’ from Midnights.
  9. The weather man is played by Swift’s love interest in the music video, Laith Ashley. Fans pointed out it illustrates her lyric from “Karma,” “Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me.”
  10. Swift is seen lying in a purple flower field which is similar to a scene from the video for ‘Our Song’ a single from her debut album.

More Easter eggs will be added as soon as we find them, let us know what you found.
