Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but most people will agree that you can get some seriously ugly Christmas sweaters this time of year.
While an ugly Christmas jumper may consist of all the bells and whistles, garish colours and designs or a tongue in cheek message, the seasonal sweaters have their own national day to celebrate their ugliness.

In tribute, People World takes a look back at some of the fabulous festive fashions worn by celebrities over the years.
Victoria and David Beckham
The Beckhams ‘spiced’ up their Christmas wardrobes last year with some loud sweaters, perfect for dining with friends.
David dedicated his outfit to his former Spice Girl wife Victoria Beckham, with a bright blue jumper that had the SpiceWorld logo on it surrounded by large snowflakes.

Meghan Trainor
Meghan Trainor definitely ‘Made You Look’ in 2015 as the singer performed at the Jingle Ball in Los Angeles.
Meghan not only wore a Christmas sweater with 3D features and light up accessories but also a matching skirt with baubles, that neatly brought the whole outfit together.
I personally loved the choice as it brought a bit of fun to the festive sing-along, but I know others would have turned to Meghan and instructed her to learn from her song, and say ‘No’.

Just like Shang-Chi and his ten rings, I give Simu Liu’s Christmas jumper a ten out of ten for the minimalistic logos.
At first, the colour scheme of light green, pink and white seems complimentary but as you look closer you begin to notice the martini glasses and the yin-yang symbols.
While this may not be ugly and just interesting, Simu has fans marvelling at the sweater.
