Queen Bey is heading to the UK as part of her Renaissance World Tour, which she announced on Monday, 1 February 2022, to kick off Black History Month.

The Formation singer revealed that she would be playing six dates across the UK as part of her first world tour in seven years, including performances in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Sunderland as well as three concerts in London’s Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

While the ‘Beehive’, the fanbase of Beyoncé, are buzzing to buy tickets for the concerts which take place from 17 May to 2 June, questions are being asked as to whether Beyoncé has any other potential plans while she is on this side of the pond.

It comes as England’s main festival and the largest greenfield festival in the world, Glastonbury 2023 is due to run from Wednesday, 21 June to Sunday, 25 June - which coincides with Beyoncé's World Tour dates.

The complete Glastonbury line up isn’t usually announced until the end of May as other performers are steadily named leading up to the June festival, and the headliner usually is scheduled for the weekend.

Sir Elton John has already been named for the Sunday evening performance [25 June], for what will be the 'final UK show of his last ever tour', according to the Glastonbury Instagram page.

But it just so happens that Beyoncé is free on the 23 June after performing in Hamburg two days prior and not needing to be in Frankfurt until the day after her potential Glasto slot - something that fans have been quick to highlight on Twitter:

"Glastonbury shaped hole in Beyoncé's tour dates," says one user, while another said: "Yesssss Queen Bee, playing 3 dates in my ends at Tottenham Stadium…but there is also gap in her dates for her to be Friday night headliner."

Beyoncé has taken on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage once before in 2011 and ‘ran the world’ for a 90-minute extravaganza.

With O2 presale tickets now available for Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour, and excitement building towards the upcoming festival season, PeopleWorld takes a look at Beyoncé's previous Glastonbury moments as suspicions grow around whether she headlines again in 2023.

Beyoncé took on Worthy Farm almost 12 years ago, as the first solo female artist to headline the festival in over two decades - Sinead O’Connor performed on the Pyramid Stage in 1990.

Queen Bey’s 90-minute headlining gig, which included tracks Crazy in Love and Girls (Run the World), also broke records as she became the first solo black female artist to ever perform at the iconic music festival.

While Beyoncé's Sunday night performance may have been branded controversial by some fans as they questioned why the American R&B singer was given the slot, she certainly made it one to remember by not only reuniting Destiny’s Child to perform Bootylicious and Say My Name, but also bringing the most television views for a single performance.

The 2011 concert was replayed for the 2020 festival, when Covid-19 wreaked havoc and forced the music gig online, and fans remembered that Beyoncé performed for 90-minutes while pregnant with her first child, Blue Ivy.

Since then, Beyoncé has given birth to twins Rumi and Sir, and even brought her eldest on stage to perform with her when opening an Atlantis hotel in Dubai.

Could we see the family reunite on stage at Glastonbury 2023? We’ll keep our eyes peeled.
