On the morning of the actor's birthday, his wife Emma shared a poignant video on her Instagram. In the video the model discusses how she had started the morning by crying as the day was full of emotional ‘feelings of grief and sadness’. Speaking to camera the model discussed how people ask her how she copes with her husband's illness, to which she admitted that she isn’t given a choice and “some days we just have to put our big girl panties on and get to it.”

In the caption Emma wrote: “Today is one of those days of feeling the grief and sadness. But the silver lining or the flip side is that I’m so lucky to feel your warmth and love that is directed to my husband and our family. I see your messages, your stories that you share, and all I can say is thank you. Your connection helps me and I hope it helps you in a small way to know that I see you and I deeply understand your journey as well.”

What is Emma Heming famous for?

The pair would often be spotted at film premieres and events together. It’s not uncommon to see his ex-wife and children accompanying them.

Bruce and Emma married the following year in 2009 at Turks and Caicos and in 2012 welcomed their first child Evelyn together with youngest daughter Mabel arriving a few years later.

After a few blissful years together the couple were rocked. In March 2022 Emma revealed that her husband would be retiring from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia (when a person has difficulty with their language or speech.) In February 2023, Bruce was diagnosed with Dementia. Following this, his ex-wife Demi moved in with the couple. Despite getting divorced over 20 years ago the pair have stayed close.

Emma has spoken openly about Bruce’s progress and is continuing to share updates to help raise awareness whilst bringing up their two daughters. As well as the heart warming video she shared on the morning of Bruce’s birthday she also shared a beautiful video montage of herself, her husband and their children spending time together on holidays whilst the Stevie Wonder song As played in the background.
