Paris Hilton announces arrival of baby via surrogacy after receiving 'fertility advice' from Kim Kardashian

If rumours are to be believed, Paris Hilton has apparently a lot to thank Kim Kardashian for. Kim reportedly introduced Paris to her fertility doctor Dr Andy Huang who is said to be known as the IVF ‘magician.’

Paris, who is 41, made the announcement via Instagram, and shared a photograph of the new baby’s hand holding her own, with the caption: “You are already loved beyond words,” followed by a blue heart emoji (obviously signalling the baby is a boy).

Kim Kardashian was one of the many stars who offered her congratulations to the couple and said: “So happy for you guys!!!” Paris replied back to her and said: “@kimkardashian thank you love! So in love with my lil angel.”

Although this is Paris's first child with husband Carter, he had a secret daughter with former reality TV star, Laura Bellizzi in 2013. He is reported to have met his child once in ten years but is said to provide for her.

Paris Hilton revealed in an interview with The Sunday Times that it was Kim Kardashian who encouraged her to freeze her eggs. “She introduced me to her doctor, and I was so inspired by her to actually do it.”

Kim Kardashian has experienced her own issues with fertility in the past when it came to starting a family with former husband Kanye West. As Kim had experienced difficult pregnancies with her oldest children, North and Saint, her other children Chicago and Psalm were born via surrogate.

Paris Hilton clearly has a strong bond with Kim Kardashian and credits her with helping her freeze her eggs which has ultimately led to her becoming a mother today. Although the pair have been called ‘frenemies’ as they are alleged to have had a long rivalry that is said to have begun when Kim Kardashian began to eclipse Paris Hilton’s fame.

PeopleWorld looks back at Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian’s interesting and tempestuous friendship.

Although Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian both grew up in Los Angeles, they didn’t go to the same high schools.

However, they did have a mutual friend in Nicole Richie and the Paris Hilton/Kim Kardashian relationship was first documented on Paris and Nicole’s reality show, The Simple Life, which began airing in 2003.

An iconic moment of The Simple Life was when Kim Kardashian was seen organising Paris Hilton’s wardrobe for her. Although many labelled Kim as Paris’s ‘assistant,’ Kim was quick to point out that this wasn’t the case and spoke about this with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live in 2017. “I would work with Paris, and I would love to organise and clean out their closets and get rid of all their stuff and sell it on ebay and then shop for them, shop for her. That was my job. I loved it. But people will say ‘assistant.’ They always have it wrong.”

It is thought Paris and Kim’s friendship started to wane after Kim Kardashian’s career took off following the release of her infamous sex tape and of course the start of Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2007.

In 2011, Kim Kardashian spoke about her friendship with Paris Hilton in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine. “We don’t really talk. As I always say, everyone comes into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. And she was in my life for a long time.”

It was not until 2016 that the ‘friends’ reunited when they posed together for a photograph at Kris Jenner’s Christmas party. This party appears to have cemented their relationship as from that moment on, the pair’s friendship seemed to be back on track.

A clear indication that Paris and Kim were friends again is when the couple reunited for a new SKIMS campaign for Kim’s brand in 2020. Kim was also a guest at Paris’s wedding to Carter in November 2021.

Back to 2023, it would seem that their friendship is very much back on track and might even become stronger thanks to Kim’s fertility advice and the fact that both Paris and Kim are both mothers.
