British group Keane has announced a new date for their performance in Manchester as issues with Co-Op Live continue for performers and promoters.

With issues continuing with Manchester’s newest all-purpose venue, Co-Op Live, leading to artists moving their shows or cancelling them outright, British group Keane has revealed a new date for their Manchester performance.

The performance was originally scheduled to take place on May 5 2024 but was one of many events scheduled to take place that have now been postponed due to ongoing issues with the Manchester venue.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the band wrote: “We’re pleased to announce that our gig at Manchester Co-op Live will be rescheduled for Saturday 19th October 2024. This show is very special to us and we want to make sure we can give you the best possible experience.

“Thank you for bearing with us and for your love and support.”

The group, known for hit singles ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ and ‘Everybody’s Changing,’ had already voiced their disappointment over the last-minute cancellation on X, revealing on May 2 2024 that due to “ongoing technical issues,” they were “[...] We’re absolutely gutted not to be able to celebrate 20 years of “Hopes And Fears” with you at the Co-op Live on Sunday.

“This is due to ongoing technical issues at the venue and is entirely beyond our control.”

The issues have led to the venue rescheduling a Black Keys gig and dates for Peter Kay’s stand-up shows, while Olivia Rodrigo’s two gigs were also postponed and will be rescheduled, with new dates yet to be announced.

The £365 million venue has postponed its events temporarily, stating that it wants to ensure the safety and security of fans and artists at the venue.

British rock band Elbow are the next artists scheduled to perform at the indoor arena on May 14 2024 and should they be successful performing there will be the venue’s opening act.
